A bit about the land:
The Bonfigli farm is in the medieval town of Falerone in Le Marche, blessedly close to the 13th century church of San Paolino. Right there on the farm, Bruno and Silvia have a small modern olive press which means they can press their olives on the same day as harvesting – the key to producing the finest extra virgin oil.
A bit about the farmer:
The Bonfigli (which literally - and auspiciously - means ‘good offspring’) family has owned this farm for more than a century and some of the trees date right the way back to then. Bruno and Silvia, the modern incumbents, have taken on the family traditions with gusto, sharing their passion for organic farming and for preserving the wonderful local olive varietals. They are currently hard at work building an Agriturismo within the farm grounds which is due to open in the Spring.
