Choose a tree: La Morla (121 trees)

Varietal:

Leccino, Frantoio, Piantone di Mogliano, Ascolana

Tasting notes:

The award-winning leccino monovarietal is fresh and grassy. The frantoio has a fuller, more fruity flavour

A bit about the land:

The organic Azienda La Morla is found to the south west of Macerata, home to the famous annual opera festival. The fertile earth (and occasional twinkling high notes from the soprano) make it perfect territory for olive groves and vineyards.

A bit about the farmer:

Caterina and her father-in-law Claudio are crazy about olive oil. They love to experiment and cultivate different olive varieties to blend them for the perfect flavour. These experiments aren’t for the fickle: each one is up to 10 years in the making. In the meantime, should they want to rest on a teensy bit of their laurels, their Leccino oil has been quietly snaffling every olive oil prize up for grabs.

"La Morla is a lovely part of the grove ..."
