A bit about the land:
The grove is just over the Le Marche border into Abruzzo and has gorgeous views of the Gran Sasso mountain. Neighbouring the olive trees are acres and acres of vines, which produce some terrific wines by the same family. Organic.
A bit about the farmer:
Run by the Dell'Orso family - at harvest time, the whole extended family is roped in to help. They also make wonderful DOC organic wine and Paola is a culinary alchemist, producing everything from rose marmalade to preserved wild asparagus.
