Your recipient will receive an ‘Adoption pack’; this includes a personalised Adoption certificate, an informational booklet all about their tree and the grove, and a personalised message (if you want one). The pack also details all the goodies that they can look forward to throughout the year. - Can I have the oil and certificate sent to different addresses?
Yes. When you check out, you’ll be asked for two addresses—one for you, and one for your recipient, where the oil will be sent. You can then choose which address you would like the certificate sent to. If you or your recipient move house during the year, just send us an email with the new address, and we will update our records. - How much oil do I actually get?
The actual amount depends on the harvest, but you are guaranteed at least 1.5 litres. Typically, the Spring package is 1.75 litres and the Fall package (three tins of flavoured oils) is 750ml. - Do I have to pay for the oil from my tree?
No! Once you adopt a tree, the year’s produce is yours. There are no extra charges. - Will the oil I receive really be from my tree?
To get sufficient olives for a press, we harvest your tree with about 50 of its neighbours in the same grove— so the oil you receive includes oil from your tree as well as from those neighbours. - How long is the Adoption for?
Your Adoption will last for a year from the start date on your certificate or from registration. At the end of the year, you can readopt your same tree, with a 10% discount. - I don’t like flavoured oils, can you send me plain oil only?
Yes. We understand that the flavoured oils aren’t for everyone, so just let us know and we will be sure to send you only unflavoured extra virgin olive oil. Also, if there’s a particular flavour you don’t want, just let us know and we’ll substitute it for another. - I need a gift for a birthday/holiday/anniversary tomorrow, can you send me something to give ASAP?
Yes. We specialise in last minute gift-giving—just let us know that you need something fast, and we can email you a temporary certificate that is ready to print. It’s perfect to let your recipient know what is coming, until the Adoption pack reaches them. - Can I visit my tree?
Yes, all adoptive parents are welcome to come and hug their olive tree. Please let us know if you plan to visit, so we can provide you with more information and make sure that someone is there to show you around. Visit our contact page - Can I get a photo of my tree?
We don’t have a photo of each individual tree yet, though it is always on our ‘to do’ list! The best way to see your tree is to come meet it in person. If you’d like to see more photos of Nudo groves, and the olives that go into your oil, check out our Flickr page.
- Where is Nudo?
Our Nudo groves are scattered across the eastern coast of Central Italy, in the Le Marche, Abruzzo and Umbria regions. Nudo’s official HQ is in London in the United Kingdom and Nudo Ltd is a UK registered company. - Why is it called Nudo?
Nudo means ‘naked’ in Italian. We called the company Nudo because we only wanted to sell simple, pure products with no pesticides, additives or modifications. Naked, in other words. (Oh ok we also quite liked the fact it sounded a bit cheeky). - Where can I buy Nudo olive oil and other products?
You can see a list of retailers who sell Nudo products on our stockists page. If you don’t see anything near you, please check back as we are always adding new retailers. Or get in touch with us if you have a place in mind.
- When will my shipments come?
The Spring package will arrive in late April, and the Fall package will arrive in late September or early October. - Do I have to pay shipping for each package?
No. The shipping charge you pay at checkout covers the delivery of all 3 Adoption packages—the certificate, the Spring package, and the Fall package. - Do you ship to my country, and how much will it cost?
We ship to any country, and the shipping charges differ depending on the region. For prices, visit our Terms & Conditions page.
- What is the difference between a Classic Adoption and a gift set with Adoption?
With the Classic Adoption, there are two oil packages – one in the spring and one in the fall/autumn. With the gift set with adoption there is only one shipment of oil, in the spring. - How do I register my gift set with Adoption?
There are 3 ways to register your Adoption. You can email us with your name, address, and registration code. You can mail us your details using the card in your adoption booklet or simply email the same information to adopt@nudo-italia.com
- Is it safe to pay with my credit card?
Yes. We use an external, internationally respected card processing company called SagePay. All the card details that you enter on our website goes directly to SagePay's very secure system and Nudo never keeps a record of these details. - Why was my card declined?
There are two common reasons a credit card is declined by our payment system. The first is that the name and address provided during check out is not exactly the same as the details registered with the credit card company. Second, it is possible that your bank or credit card company has blocked the purchase. This can happen when they assume the purchase is fraudulent, because you are making a payment to a foreign company. If you give them a call and ask them to allow the purchase, you should be able to check out successfully.
